Use this guide if you are installing for the first time, whether it is a brand new computer or just a fresh install you will follow these steps:
Important Notes:
- Occasionally the installer will need a restart to finish, please ensure your machine will be able to be restarted if necessary.
- If upgrading from an existing installation see this guide.
- If using a 32-Bit OS please contact support for an alternative installer.
- It is recommended that you right click "Run As Administrator" to install properly.
- Download and Launch Installer
Note: You may be met with a small black window, don’t be alarmed this is normal and usually runs in the background, the installer should launch within a minute or two if not right away. - Accept Terms to License Agreement and Select Install Location (Default is C:\Program Files (x86)\ESHA Research\FoodProSQL)
- Click Next
- Enter in Customer Number and Serial Key (Green Checkmark will Appear)
- Click Next
- Choose which type of install you want to do:
Typical:
For a stand alone install (single computer and non-shared database). The standalone database will be named (localdb)\v11.0.
- Choose Typical and click Next.
- Review the summary and when ready click Install.
Custom A - setup a shared database for multiple clients to connect:

- Choose the Custom install Option and click Next.
- Click the triangle next to The Food Processor to expand options.
- Select the options you wish to install:
- Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Express Edition (engine to host the database - required for multi-user environments).
- The Food Processor Client (wherever the Food Processor client application is to be installed).
- After Installation Option are selected, click Next.
- A Summary page will appear. Review and click Install.
NOTE: to grant access to multiple users, you will need to explicitly add their Active Directory logins (or an AD Group) to the database. To do so, you may use ESHA's Database Utility, or SQL Server Management Studio.
You may also need to setup exceptions in Windows Firewall (or similar if using another firewall)
Custom B - installation of the client only, to connect to an existing shared database.
Please note the logged in user that is installing the program must be granted access to the database to complete the connection tests. To do so, you may use ESHA's Database Utility, or SQL Server Management Studio.
- Choose the Custom install Option and click Next.
- Click the triangle next to The Food Processor to expand options.
- Select The Food Processor Client only and click Next.
- Enter the existing SQL Server Name and complete the connection tests and the clients will be setup to connect to the existing database.
If you are not certain of the Server Name, launch an existing installed Food Processor and click Home > About. The server Name and Catalog (aka Database) will be listed. - After setting up the connection, click Next.
- A Summary page will appear, review the summary and click Install
