New Features:
- For an overview of the changes, click here
- Genesis version 11 has a new interface! We have incorporated a more modern ribbon look. We also updated all of the icons and the splash screen.
- Added a tab bar to more easily view what items and reports you have open.
- The nutrient, Added Sugar, was added to the program. Pure database foods were populated with added sugar values, according to the definition outlined in the US proposed labeling changes. The proposed label display in Genesis will reflect these added sugar values.
- Created a new online manual
- Introducing the new web hosted option for Genesis. You can run the Genesis application from any location connecting to a cloud hosted server. Contact ESHA's sales department for more information. You can contact them through the Live Chat on this page, by emailing sales@esha.com, or by calling 800-659-3742 extension 2.
Improvements:
- The nutrient, EU Carb, was renamed, Carbohydrate (Available), which is more universally recognized. This nutrient is associated with the EU labeling module. Carbohydrate (Available) does not include dietary fiber, making it different than the Carbohydrate field used in the US and Canada (which does include dietary fiber).
- Added two additional Notes fields for a total of three per Recipe, Ingredient, or Food Menu. You can also rename the global Notes field names in the Preferences.
- Added the Nutrients to View user created files stored in the ProgramData to the drop down menu for easier access.
- Added a feature to allow the user to change the Serving Size unit of measure from g to ml provided the recipe has a weight to volume conversion.
- Added the ability in Mexican labels to show fiber, vitamins, and minerals as units of measurements as well as percent daily value.
- Added the ability to show or hide allergens based on regulating body. By default the allergens you see will be for the module(s) (US, Canada, Mexico, EU) of Genesis you own. These can be changed in the Preferences.
- The label setting “Use Unrounded Values When Calculating %DV” can now be used in Supplement Labels.
- Database Utility: Added the ability to change the location of the files when restoring a .bak backup of the database.
- Database Utility: Added the (localdb)\v11.0 server to the "Server Name" drop down menu when connecting to server.
Bugs Fixed:
- Fixed a bug where exporting items with certain special characters would cause the application to crash.
- Fixed a bug where the saturated fat values would be incorrectly rounded using the 4-4-9 method.
- Fixed a bug in the Reports PLUS where the allergen statement would cut off anything past three rows.
- Fixed a bug where User Code could not be searched for longer than 20 characters.
- Fixed the spelling of the word “Fluoride” in the Mexico module.
- The Food Menu Report will now show nutrients of items not in Categories properly.
- Fixed a bug where the Spreadsheet report would not show any nutrients if the “Values” button in the Spreadsheet (Label Rounded) report was unchecked.
- Fixed a bug where the version in the Help>About Genesis window would not reflect the correct patch version.
- Protein content claims are now correctly based on %DV instead of grams.
- Fixed a bug where the allergens in the Food Menu Report would not show the correct value.
- Database Utility: Fixed a bug where you would be locked out of all menus if you failed to connect to a server.
