How Can I Merge Two or More Stand Alone Databases Together?

This guide will walk you through the process of either merging two or more stand alone databases together to be on one workstation, or to move multiple stand alone databases to a single server, then point those workstations to the server.

  1. You will first want to make sure both databases are the same version. Ideally, the most up-to-date version.  You can find the version of the application or database by going to the About button on the Home tab of the ribbon.  In older versions, click on the menu: Help > About, or Help > Information.
  2. Export the data from all but one of the databases. Each Export may produce multiple .exl files. Once you have exported all of the user data, take the .exl file(s) to the one database you have not exported from yet, and import to that database.
  3. You can then follow our guide in moving the database to a new server and pointing the clients to that server.
