Searching for Gluten Free

Q.  How do I find gluten free items in the database?

A.  You can include "gluten free" in your search terms to find some items in the database.  This would include foods of a gluten free version that would typically replace items that commonly contain gluten, like breads, pastas, etc.

A more complete list of gluten free items is found by using the More search.

For example, from a general Ingredient search or the Search field in a Recipe or Dietary Recall, click on the “More” button.  Search by: “bread” for the food name and Select>Characteristics>Gluten Free. This results in a list of foods breads that are gluten free.  You can perform a broader search (including all gluten free items, like apples) or narrow the search by food groups.
