Exporting All or Some of Your User-Added Data

This process will bulk export your existing data within the application for import into another installation of the ESHA software. This can include all user-added data, or a subset filtered by Type and/or by Group(s).

Export Records

  1. Close all open records in the program. 
  2. Navigate to the Database Tab and select Export All. 
  3. This dialog will open. From here, you can select all records, or filter the output by type or Groups.mceclip0.png
  4. Click OK. This can take a while if you have a lot of data, but the software will automatically detect the size of the export and suggest the number of files to split the export into (1-24 files with a .exl file extension).
  5. We recommend using that suggestion, if not split into more files (smaller individual files).

 

Note: You will choose where you want to export the files. We suggest that you create a folder to store the files, if more than one file will be created during the export.

  1. If you are in the Cloud:

    To easily locate the files when you are importing or exporting the exl files. Please create a folder on the C drive (call it Esha Backup or some other name and copy/save the files to that folder.

Please note depending on the amount of items being exported; the export task can take some time to complete. The export task may show a not responding status. Please allow the export to complete. An Export summary will display once the Export task is complete. Do not close the program until the Export Summary displays.

Import into Destination Computer

  1. Open your ESHA application.

  2. Click Database/Import.

  3. Locate the .exl files.

    If you are in the Cloud:

    To easily locate the files when you are importing or exporting the exl files. Please create a folder on the C drive and copy the files to that folder.

     

  4. If there are multiple EXL files, highlight the first. Depending on the version of the ESHA software, you may be able to select multiple EXL files to import.  If you are only able to select one, repeat as needed for each EXL file. 

  5. Click Open.

  6. Select the appropriate options and click OK.
