If you are wanting to save a label, report, exported files, or other document(s) from outside of the cloud environment to your local computer, the steps are a bit different than what you may be expecting.
*Mac users should refer to the following to save from the Cloud to their Mac:
How to save from the Cloud to a Mac
Windows instructions:
Your local computer's hard drives and internal network drives (if any) will appear named something akin to 'C on [YourComputerName]' (or other drive letter). This amounts to your C:\ drive of your computer.
- Please Note: Your local C: drive will show up as 'C on [YourComputerName]' in the hosted environment.
The simplest solution is to Choose Hosted Computer, Choose your C: drive and create a new or existing folder on the C: drive. Choose this folder as the save location. This process works the same if you are trying to save items to the Cloud, such as attachments, Importing .exl files etc...
Please note there is a known lag issue between the Cloud and the local drives, so it takes time for the Cloud to update and navigate the local drives directories.
Given this, if you wish to save to the Desktop (or perhaps Documents folder) on your local computer, you will need to select the listing of "C on [YourComputerName]" to get to your local c:\ drive. Once there, to get to the "special" locations built into Windows, navigate to:
- open the Users folder on the "C on [YourComputerName]" drive
- open your Profile name folder
- here, you'll see your Desktop, Documents, Pictures, etc. folders.
Important Note: Any local drives (again, those denoted as "[DriveLetter] on [YourComputerName]" are part of your local environment and are NOT backed up as part of the hosted environment.
See the documents below for an explanation of each drive you will see on your "Hosted Computer" with the cloud environment. You may want to save on a local drive to your computer, and not on the hosted server's hard drive.
When in the Save screen, you will typically see a file path common to Windows. In the hosted environment, you have access to some hard drive space on the cloud computer (typically mapped as p:\ and s:\) as well as your local computer and any internal network locations.

There are typically 2 mapped drives which point to the cloud server's hard drive:
- The P: drive is referred to as your Personal Hosted Desktop drive. This directory will start with your login and is accessible only to the specific user. This is a drive on the hosted computer in the cloud, and not a local drive.
- The S: drive is referred to as your Company Shared drive; any data/files placed on this drive will be accessible by all employees, from your company, with access to a Hosted Desktop. This is a drive on the hosted computer in the cloud, and not a local drive.
