I am getting the error “The program can not start because [some].dll is missing”

Typically,

To correct this error, one of the following three options may be necessary:

  1. Repair the installation. Specifically get into Add/Remove Programs (or Programs and Features, or Uninstall a Program). Within, look for Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x86). Select that, and click the Change button. You should have an option to Repair.

  2. Download and install the file below:

NOTE: In some cases this file has already been installed. If that is the case, during (re)installation choose a 'Repair' on the installation.

  3. Check for any un-applied Windows Updates. Typically, you can look into this by clicking your Start button, and then typing Windows Update. Often you'll see "Check for Updates" (depending on the version of Windows you have installed). Step through that process.

v11 (VC110 - mfc110u.dll): https://s3.amazonaws.com/esharesearch-webinstaller/vc11/vcredist_x86.exe

v10 (VC100 - mfc100u.dll): https://s3.amazonaws.com/esharesearch-webinstaller/vc100/vcredist_x86.exe

After, try the program again and contact support if you continue to have problems.
